Parts of speech - Chandra's Concept

 

Hello guys, This blog related to Spoken English. In this blog, you will learn about all the eight parts of speech, which will help us and make things easier while learning other topics of spoken English. Here, I'm not going to make you bore. I'll try to explain all the topics in short and with their main concepts.

Q). What are Parts of speech?

Ans.: every word that we speak in our daily life is classified into some categories. These categories are called the parts of speech. There are 8 parts of speech in English grammar. Which are the followings :

1). Noun: Noun is a naming word.

Eg. Ramesh, Himalaya, Chair, Mobile, etc.

2). Pronoun: Pronoun replaces a noun.

Eg. >Devendra does not have a Mobile. Because he is poor.

3). Verb: Verb shows action or state of being.

Eg. >They have my car. >He is Rich. >Jiten is watching a movie.

4). Adjective: Adjective describes the noun or the pronoun.

Eg. >They are good people. >Your T-Shirt is black.

5). Adverb: Adverb describes the verb or the adjective or the adverb.

Eg. >He runs fast. >Rina is very beautiful.

6). Preposition: Preposition shows the relation between a noun or pronoun and the other part of sentences.

Eg. >Glass is on the table. >I am in my room.

7). Conjunction: A Conjunction joins two or more sentences.

Eg. >He will go to the market. if I give him money. >I am neither good nor bad.

8). Interjection: A Interjection shows sudden emotions.

Eg. >Hurry, We won the match. >Oh, It's very bad news.
